Nelson Homes is owned and managed by Rory Nelson, a qualified Carpenter & Joiner, Building Designer, Estimator and Project Manager. He has considerable experience in commercial construction and domestic housing.

Rory completed his trade in the Australian Army. Whilst there he worked on numerous projects in Sydney with Civilian Building Firms and Remote areas of Australia for the Aboriginal an Torres straight Island Commission, and natural disaster relief: Projects included the construction of Houses, Medical facilities, Sewage treatment plants, Airstrips, Roads, Structural Repairs and maintenance e.t.c.

He served in Bougainville and East Timor doing the same kind of work. Rory was in charge of the construction and dismantling of the Stage used for the 1999 Dili tour of duty concert.

On discharging from the Army, Rory took up the position of a project manager on a multiple luxury housing project in Northern Sydney.

Rory moved back to his wife’s home town of Albury and set up Nelson Homes Pty Ltd in 2004.

Rory is very hands on during the building of your new home or extension. Not only does he draw your plans and gains the required building permits he is also very active on the construction side of your project.
